Choir

At Coro, there are two opportunities for students to participate in choir - Junior Choir (Years 3 and 4) and Senior Choir (Years 5 and 6).

In addition to participating in the Festival of Music, the Senior Choir rehearse weekly with an accompanist and perform at assemblies, within the community, and at school concerts.

The Junior Choir rehearse during one lunch time per week and also perform at assemblies, concerts, and within the community.

The choirs both perform at our annual Special Persons Day concert, dance concert, and celebration night to celebrate the end of the school year.

Festival of Music

CVPS participates in the Festival of Music each year. Students from our school have been involved in many ways. Along with our school choir performing in the Festival of Music concert series, we have also had students play as part of the orchestra, and perform in the troupe and percussion bands.

The Primary Schools Music Festival presents the Festival of Music in South Australia annually and is recognised as a state heritage icon. This choral program has a longstanding tradition that has impacted generations of public school students across South Australia. It is a highly valued part of the school curriculum here at CVPS; students and families look forward to taking part every year.

The Festival of Music aligns with our school's commitment to promoting the importance of music and the arts, as part of our specialist programs. It plays a vital role in nurturing young talent, fostering a sense of unity and inclusivity, and preserving and building South Australia's musical landscape and history.
