BYO Device 2021

09 Dec 2020

“BYOD is the shortest path to student centred learning.” - Terry Heick

A survey of our classes has shown that over 80 percent of Year 3-7 students bring a device to use at school to support their learning.   This means these students can have a greater choice in how and where they learn, and how they share their learning with others.  It also means there is 80 precent more access for the other students to access existing digital devices at school.

BYOD Advantages

  • Greater access to devices.

  • Greater student decision making.

  • Greater engagement.

  • Greater understanding by staff as to what is possible.

  • Greater development of research and Inquiry skills.

We would normally run an information session, but due to current restrictions we are unable to at this stage.

For the presentation I would run through click here.

More information and the current agreement can be found at: https://coromandps.schoolzineplus.com/byod-pdf

With questions, can you please send an eMail to: dl.0104.leaders@schools.sa.edu au

or you can ring the school and speak to me on 8278 3693.

Regards,
Mike Shaw
Assistant Principal

COVID-19 update 20/11/20

20 Nov 2020

The Premier today announced that schools and preschools will reopen to all students on Monday 23 November.

As a result our school will be open and operating as normal.

We will not be offering an alternative home-based learning program.

OSHC will operate as usual.

As the Chief Public Health Officer said, just because the hard lockdown is being lifted does not mean that the risks associated with COVID-19 have passed. As a result we will minimise the number of people coming and going from our site.

Wherever possible, please drop and collect your child at the gate and maintain the appropriate physical distance from other adults.

More information on excursions, events and sporting activities, and use of masks will be available soon.

Thank you very much for your support over the last couple of days. We look forward to having your child back at school on Monday
