BYO Device 2021
09 Dec 2020
“BYOD is the shortest path to student centred learning.” - Terry Heick
A survey of our classes has shown that over 80 percent of Year 3-7 students bring a device to use at school to support their learning. This means these students can have a greater choice in how and where they learn, and how they share their learning with others. It also means there is 80 precent more access for the other students to access existing digital devices at school.
BYOD Advantages
- Greater access to devices.
- Greater student decision making.
- Greater engagement.
- Greater understanding by staff as to what is possible.
- Greater development of research and Inquiry skills.
We would normally run an information session, but due to current restrictions we are unable to at this stage.
For the presentation I would run through click here.
More information and the current agreement can be found at: https://coromandps.schoolzineplus.com/byod-pdf

COVID-19 update 20/11/20
20 Nov 2020
The Premier today announced that schools and preschools will reopen to all students on Monday 23 November.
As a result our school will be open and operating as normal.
We will not be offering an alternative home-based learning program.
OSHC will operate as usual.
As the Chief Public Health Officer said, just because the hard lockdown is being lifted does not mean that the risks associated with COVID-19 have passed. As a result we will minimise the number of people coming and going from our site.
Wherever possible, please drop and collect your child at the gate and maintain the appropriate physical distance from other adults.
More information on excursions, events and sporting activities, and use of masks will be available soon.
Thank you very much for your support over the last couple of days. We look forward to having your child back at school on Monday
Updated COVID-19 information
18 Nov 2020
Today the Premier announced a 6-day statewide lockdown starting at midnight tonight (Wednesday 18 November) through to midnight Tuesday 24 November.
Only the children of essential workers and vulnerable children will be able to attend school or preschool/child care.
A skeleton staff will provide supervision but not a learning program for the remainder of this week. If your child needs to attend, we will be here for them.
All students have been asked to take home school laptops/devices, books and anything they need to continue their learning from home.
More information on learning programs will be provided early next week, as we work our way through the new COVID-19 Directions.
All South Australians are making sacrifices to ensure our community remains as safe as possible. We appreciate that this is a significant undertaking for you and your family. Your child’s teacher, our support staff and I are here to support you where we can

COVID-19 update 18th November
18 Nov 2020
Dear %%first_name%%,
Following The Premier Steve Marshall's Press Conference today at 12.30pm, I have received a directive from the Department for Education which impacts on our school community:
The Premier has announced a 6 day statewide lockdown from midnight tonight.
Preschools, schools and childcare centres will close for this period.
This is a challenging time, and the department has approved the following:
· Thursday 19 November – school/preschool closure day.
· Friday 20 November – school/preschool closure day.
· Monday 23 November – pupil free day.
· Tuesday 24 November – pupil free day.
I have been asked to inform you of the following:
· We will complete the rest of the school day (Wednesday) as normal – students and staff will remain at school.
· OSHC will continue to run this afternoon, as normal.
· We will ask students to take home school laptops/devices, books, and anything they need to continue their learning from home.
· Teachers and leaders will take home devices, books and all of the resources and materials needed for communication and ongoing planning.
This is a challenging time. We will support each other and our students through this time.
We acknowledge that this will have an impact on every member of our school and community and we appreciate your understanding and support.
We will provide more information as it comes to hand.
